ABC-X5/7 CPU for the Siemens SIMATIC The ABC-X5/7 CPU is a complex central processing unit with an integrated Ethernet controller. The board can be used in the Siemens S5-115U and 135/155U PLCs. The PLC is programmed in Siemens Step5 or Step7. A range of different CPU types are available, thus simplifying the implementation of the 945, 946, 947 and 948 CPUs. The ABC-X5/7 CPU provides 64 MB of on-board memory, of which 2 MB can be reserved for retentive data. Programs can be backed up on Compact Flash cards or IBM Microdrives. The CPU comes with a large number of interfaces and can also be expanded using PC-MIP modules. It features an integrated display for providing board status information immediately. The integrated Ethernet controller supports data transmissions between 10 Mbit/100 Mbit and is provided with a small mini hub (2 ports). The CPU can be integrated in Ethernet networks with RFC 1006 as well as with a socket interface.
